Ellis Crisis Scholarships

Due to the generosity of Carlene Ellis, Delta-Iota, Georgia, $50,000 for need-based scholarships was made available to the Delta Gamma Foundation, through the Directed Grant Program of the Education Financing Foundation of California. These scholarships are designated to assist collegiate members who have extreme financial need OR who find themselves in a sudden or unexpected financial crisis.

Applications will be accepted from current undergraduate members of Delta Gamma who will have completed either three semesters or four quarters of classes by January 1, 2006. Members must complete all forms and meet all requirements for a Delta Gamma scholarship AND they must complete the Anchor Grant for Members in Crisis form and submit the required supporting documentation.

Again, the Ellis Crisis Scholarship program is intended to assist collegiate members who have either extreme financial need OR find themselves suddenly and unexpectedly in financial crisis. Please encourage applications only if these criteria can be met. The top twenty Anchor Grant/Scholarship applicants (those who qualify for a scholarship and are the most in need) will be granted a $2,500 scholarship, which will be paid to the member's college or university for tuition for the term(s) starting in January, 2006. All those who have applied and meet all requirements for a Delta Gamma scholarship will be placed in the scholarship pool for $1,000 awards to be made in the fall of 2006.
